Job Title: IT Operations & Compliance Specialist

Job Summary:
The IT Operations & Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting our workforce and ensuring the security and compliance of our cloud-based IT environment. This hands-on position combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of cloud technologies and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing remote IT support to our employees, managing user access and security, and ensuring our operations adhere to industry regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Remote IT Support:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Troubleshoot software, cloud application, and connectivity problems, escalating complex issues to relevant vendors or internal teams.
- Assist with onboarding new employees, setting up accounts, configuring software, and providing training on cloud tools and security best practices.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within our cloud-based systems (e.g., Google Workspace, AWS).
- Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and security, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Collaborate with cloud service providers to optimize resource utilization and manage costs.
- Compliance & Security:
- Ensure IT operations adhere to industry standards (e.g., SOC2, NIST) and regulatory requirements, focusing on cloud-specific compliance controls.
- Assist with collecting evidence and managing controls for ITGC audits.
- Develop and maintain security policies and procedures
- Monitor for security threats and vulnerabilities in cloud environments, implementing appropriate safeguards.
- Educate employees on cybersecurity best practices for remote work and cloud usage.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, preferably in a remote or cloud-based environment.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their security implications.
- Familiarity with ITGC frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2) is a plus.
- Experience with remote support tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a distributed environment.
Preferred Skills:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certifications.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals).
- Experience with identity and access management (IAM) systems.
- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
