Compliance and Regulatory Specialist – Drilling/Production

Contract: 12 months, possible extension

Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Compliance and Regulatory Specialist to join our East Coast Offshore team. This role focuses on ensuring regulatory excellence and compliance for offshore drilling and production operations, with a particular emphasis on MODU (Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit) programs. The successful candidate will work closely with EH&S, Regulatory Affairs, and technical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Regulatory and Certifying Authority Engagement Plans, collaborating with EH&S and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Review Barrier Testing results, aligning on corrective actions and the path forward.
  • Coordinate contingency operations, including well control from an FPSO or other approved vessel.
  • Define the scope of the MODU campaign, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the Operations Authorization process, overseeing necessary documentation and regulatory submissions.
  • Engage continuously with regulatory agencies throughout the MODU program to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct detailed compliance assessments in accordance with the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area Petroleum Operations Framework Regulations, focusing on MODU requirements, Drilling, Completions, and Interventions.
  • Collaborate with the Drilling, Completions, and Interventions technical team to update and maintain supporting documentation within the management system.
  • Develop, manage, and track a detailed schedule for Operations Authorization activities.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Compliance Plan for the East Coast MODU program.
  • Provide technical regulatory advice to management, focusing on MODU intake and Operations Authorization.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting on regulatory compliance and permit status.

Requirements
