Lead the fund accounting team through NAV calculations, year‑end financials, audits, and investor reporting. Review and approve capital calls, distributions, management fee calculations, and closes. Oversee variance analysis, P&L reviews, forecasting, and financial modeling with precision and accuracy. Continuously refine processes to improve speed, quality, and reliability. Ensure all activities meet regulatory, tax, and audit requirements in both Canada and the US. Conduct due diligence on potential partners, issuers, and counterparties. Oversee timely preparation and filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns and filings. Serve as the primary contact for external legal, banking, and financing relationships. Mentor, coach, and elevate a combined Finance, Legal & Compliance team, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and collaboration. Set clear expectations, goals, KPI’s; provide constructive feedback and support professional development. Build a strong, cohesive team dynamic with the structure and systems needed to succeed, including working cross‑functionally with other team members.
