Plant Controller – GCP Join to apply for the Plant Controller role at GCP. Why Do We Need You? Ensure the financial statement integrity and internal controls of the Building Envelope lines of businesses. Partner with the LOB management to provide timely and accurate data to support business decisions such as sourcing, pricing, and long‑range planning. Participate in cross‑functional teams throughout CT and SGC. Responsibilities Ensure accuracy of plant financial statements. Drive plant profitability and growth through ownership of the financial analysis. Manage the timely completion of the plant’s month‑end financial close and related activities. Demonstrate awareness of all elements of a location’s financial statements and own all elements of a location’s financial statements. Prepare all post‑closing location financial analysis, performance reports, and commentary. Prepare and coordinate the annual budget at the location level. Prepare, maintain, and analyze product standard costs. Support the analytical needs of the plant manager and staff. Partner with plant management to increase plant efficiency and profitability. Prepare analysis to understand the financial ramifications of current and proposed business actions. Identify issues and proactively initiate analyses and solutions to location issues. Ensure compliance with SGC and EPG policies and procedures. Oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory. Assist in preparation of capital appropriations requests including DAC. Track capital spending and capital project closures. Track/review cost reduction projects and maintain required reporting. Conduct ad‑hoc analysis. Main Responsibilities Active participation in Plant Staff meetings. Involvement in and support of Plant Review meetings. Lead Financial/Spend reviews with plant staff. Identify and manage process improvement initiatives. Identify issues and proactively initiate analysis (labor, material usage, spending). Ad‑hoc analysis and reporting for plant and operations management. Cost reduction monitoring, reporting, and results auditing where applicable. Month‑End Closing Inventory verification and control. Prepare journal entries to be posted by SSC. Analyze financial results. Account reconciliations. Month‑End Analysis and Reporting Prepare month‑end reports. Prepare manufacturing variance analysis. Location Financial Review including Building Envelope and Roofing businesses. Analyze SG&A and investigate unusual charges. Budget Preparation Analytically review and challenge the budget and all assumptions. Coordinate and prepare budget presentation for BE and Roofing businesses. Internal Controls and Compliance Coordinate and support annual Self‑Assessment review. Support ISC audit activities, coordinating plant responses and follow‑up. Other Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and maintain product standard costing. Oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory. Support capital expenditure appropriation request development. Coordinate and support annual fixed‑asset desk review, tri‑annual fixed‑asset audit. Prepare and maintain product profitability analysis. Is This Job for You? The Profile Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA, CMA, or MBA preferable or equivalent complementary work experience. Minimum 3 years of progressive cost accounting and analysis experience with a major manufacturing organization. Strong emphasis on management accounting, cost and inventory accounting, and GAAP. Strong analytical skills to quickly grasp issues impacting the business’s financial results. Strong IT aptitude to deliver effective desktop reporting (paperless web‑enabled environment), utilize business warehouse tools, SAP and MS Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Capable of leading a process team and defining clear vision, goals, and service standards. Ability to manage projects, work independently, and communicate effectively across all areas and levels of the location. Excellent interpersonal skills and client‑service orientation. Capacity to meet the needs of a complex, diverse, dynamic and fast‑paced organization, solving challenges quickly and accurately while adhering to GAAP & IFRS requirements. Work Location and Schedule Based at our Ajax Facility with ability to travel to California’s facility in the US. On‑site 5 days a week.
