Plant Controller

WHY DO WE NEED YOU? The Plant Controller ensures the financialstatement integrity and internal controls of the Building Envelope lines of business. Partner with LOB management to provide timely and accurate data to support business decisions such as sourcing, pricing, and long‑range planning. Participate in cross‑functional teams throughout CT and SGC. Responsibilities Ensure accuracy of plant financial statements. Drive plant profitability and growth through ownership of the financial analysis. Manage the timely completion of the plant’s month‑end financial close, including physical/virtual warehouses. Own all elements of a location’s financial statements and demonstrate awareness of each element. Prepare all post‑closing location financial analysis, performance reports, and commentary. Prepare and coordinate the annual budget at the location level. Prepare, maintain and analyze product standard costs. Support the analytical needs of the plant manager and staff. Partner with plant management to increase plant efficiency and profitability. Analyze financial ramifications of current and proposed business actions. Identify issues and proactively initiate analyses/solutions to location issues. Ensure compliance with SGC and EPG policies and procedures. Oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory. Assist in preparation of capital appropriations requests including DAC. Track capital spending and project closures. Track and review cost reduction projects and maintain required reporting. Perform ad‑hoc analysis. Month‑End Closing Inventory verification and control. Prepare journal entries to be posted by SSC. Analyze financial results. Conduct account reconciliations. Month‑End Analysis and Reporting Prepare month‑end reports. Prepare manufacturing variance analysis. Conduct location financial review for Building Envelope and Roofing businesses. Analyze SG&A and investigate unusual charges. Annual Operating Budget Analytically review and challenge the budget and all assumptions. Coordinate and prepare budget presentation for BE and Roofing businesses. Compliance and Internal Controls Coordinate and support annual self‑assessment review. Support IC audit activities, coordinating plant responses and follow‑up. Other Duties and Responsibilities Maintain product standard costing. Support capital expenditure appropriation request development. Coordinate and support annual fixed asset desk review and tri‑annual fixed asset audit. Prepare and maintain product profitability analysis. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA, CMA, or MBA preferable or equivalent, with complementary work experience. Minimum 3 years of progressive cost accounting and analysis experience with a major manufacturing organization. Strong knowledge of management accounting, cost and inventory accounting, and GAAP. Strong analytical skills and ability to quickly grasp issues impacting business financial results. IT aptitude to deliver effective desktop reporting using business warehouse tools, SAP, MS Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Capability to lead a process team and define clear vision, goals, and service standards. Ability to manage projects, work independently, and communicate effectively at all levels. Excellent interpersonal skills and client‑service orientation. Capacity to meet the needs of a complex, dynamic organization and solve varied challenges using GAAP & IFRS. Location & Schedule Based at our Ajax Facility with ability to travel to our California facility in the US. On‑site 5 days a week.
