OYA Black Arts Coalition is a non‑profit organization dedicated to supporting Black artists, creators, and entrepreneurs within the Canadian entertainment sector. Our programs offer mentorship, networking, and essential skills training to post‑secondary graduates in film, television, and digital media, helping them kick‑start their careers and increase employment opportunities. We also offer services to mid‑career filmmakers/artists, fostering the development, production, and/or distribution of their projects, and increasing the number and capacity of Black Entrepreneurs within Ontario. Career Leap is a workforce development program funded by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism under the Black Youth Action Plan. The program supports emerging Black creatives through training, paid industry placements, mentorship, and additional career development. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of the program, ensuring high‑quality participant experiences, strong employer partnerships, proactive issue management, and accurate reporting. This role combines case management, industry relations, workshop administration, data tracking, and program logistics. The Program Coordinator plays a central role in advancing the success metrics for the 4th cycle of the program by fostering a supportive environment for participants, and maintaining exceptional relationships with production companies and mentors. The Program Coordinator will report directly to the Programs Manager. Key Responsibilities Provide structured and consistent communication with all participants Conduct proactive troubleshooting and support during placements Track participant progress, placement hours, union eligibility progress, challenges and required documentation Host monthly 1:1 check‑ins with each participant Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with production companies, employers, and mentors Ensure each participant receives at least one paid placement aligned with program goals Manage all placement agreements, MOUs, onboarding documents, and expectations‑setting Support employers with workplace culture and anti‑racism practices and intervene early on issues Collect feedback from employers and participants via surveys Plan and deliver required virtual and in‑person workshops Coordinate logistics, guest speakers, mentors, and materials Promote strong cohort culture and peer connection Prepare progress reports for funders and internal leadership Maintain open and proactive communication with the Programs Manager and the Sr. Manager, Operations Surface risks early if/when participants are at risk of not completing their hours Respond to all partner communications within two (2) business days Support planning of program culmination event (Spring 2026) Qualifications Minimum 2‑4 years of experience in program coordination, youth development, workforce development, arts administration, or related fields Experience working with Black youth or equity‑seeking communities, particularly in a culturally‑responsive and trauma‑informed way Knowledge of film/TV production environments is an asset Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills Exceptional organizational and data‑tracking abilities Comfort working in an emergent and multi‑stakeholder environment Ability to work some evenings or weekends for events or urgent participant support Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience within the media industry. Working Conditions Hybrid (4:1) role based in Toronto (Leslieville) Occasional travel within the GTHA for meetings, partner/site visits, and events Flexibility required around peak program milestones Application Deadline December 17, 2025.
