The Role We’re looking for an Associate Family Lawyer with roughly 2–3 years of family law experience who’s ready to take the next step in their career. This is a full-time hybrid position, based in North York, with the flexibility to work remotely. You’ll manage your own files with guidance when needed, balancing independence with the support of a senior lawyer and experienced team. You’ll have meaningful client contact, courtroom experience, and opportunities to grow your advocacy skills in a mentorship-focused environment. What You’ll Do Handle a manageable caseload of family law matters, from intake to resolution Meet and advise clients with compassion and clarity Draft affidavits, pleadings, financial statements, and agreements Conduct case conferences, motions, and settlement discussions Collaborate with the team to share strategies and insights Stay up to date on legislative and case-law changes What We’re Looking For 2–3 years of solid family law experience, including client management and appearances Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills Excellent communication — ability to explain complex issues without jargon Confident working independently and as part of a team Experience negotiating and resolving matters with professionalism and tact Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB, in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario Comfort with legal software and modern technology; we’re mostly paperless A client-focused, empathetic approach with a steady sense of humour Why You’ll Love Working Here We offer a friendly, flexible, and growth-oriented environment where initiative is encouraged and your ideas are valued.
