The organization plays a crucial role in supporting the foodservice sector by uniting industry professionals and fueling success through advocacy, connection, and support. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Government Relations, the Vice President, Western Canada manages public policy issues affecting the foodservice industry at the provincial and municipal levels. The Vice President handles policy matters in Western Canada, acts as the media spokesperson, leads advocacy efforts, and drafts submissions for government bodies. The Vice President engages with politicians and decision-makers, involves the board and members on key issues, and works to raise the profile of Restaurants Canada. They also represent the association at events, collaborate with other organizations, and manage the budget for Western Canada. This role requires both independent and collaborative work, involving senior leadership when necessary. The ideal candidate for the Vice President, Western Canada at Restaurants Canada, will possess a relevant post-secondary degree, and at least five years of experience in a similar role. You understand provincial legislative processes and excel in diplomacy and relationship-building. You can work independently and remotely in a fast-paced environment, managing shifting priorities and deadlines. You are comfortable engaging with diverse individuals, acting as a media spokesperson, and representing the association effectively. Experience in media interviews and message development is beneficial. To fill this position, Restaurants Canada has partnered with leadership advisory firm Odgers.
