They self-perform most of their work and are known for their collaborative culture, modern approach to construction, and strong industry reputation. As a Field Engineer, you’ll be on site helping to drive project execution, supporting planning, coordination, and quality on complex, large-scale civil and transit infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities: Develop a thorough understanding of project specifications and budget requirements. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors. Coordinate and respond to technical inquiries from various stakeholders. Assist the Quality Management team with performing and documenting QA/QC procedures. Perform basic engineering calculations to support field activities. Manage general duties such as printing/plotting, transmittal preparation, project tracking, and submitting drawings to clients/contractors. Provide technical and administrative support throughout all phases of the project. Create and issue daily construction reports. Assist with scheduling and cost estimate preparation. Attend site meetings, communicate directly with clients, and maintain respectful and professional working relationships. Ideal Candidate Requirements: 2–3+ years of experience in a Field Engineer, Project Coordinator, or similar site-based role within civil construction. Experience working on major infrastructure or transit projects (e.g., SkyTrain, bridgework, roadworks); utilities experience (wet or dry) is a strong asset. Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical considered if relevant experience). Registration with EGBC as an EIT (or eligibility to register) is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and technical documentation. Comfortable working on active construction sites and collaborating closely with field teams. Familiarity with scheduling software and/or estimating is an asset. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
