Your Job
Analysis of financial statements and the valuation of domestic and foreign companies
Development and maintenance of financial models
Industry & market research and collection and maintenance of industry and company data
Evaluation of additional information from the financial press, corporate, industry and alternative sources
Assist in writing and editing research notes, reports and analyst presentations
Communication with institutional clients, management of companies under coverage and equity sales staff

A wholly owned subsidiary of the National Bank of Canada, it is an established investment dealer that provides research, sales, trading and investment banking services to institutional and retail investors. The firm is seeking an Associate Analyst who will work directly with the firm’s Research Vice President in the Mining and Metals sector.
This position is based in Toronto.
Basic Requirements
Strong educational background in finance, engineering (mining, chemical or mechanical) or geology
Excellent financial modeling and analysis skills
CA, CPA, CFA designation is desirable but not required
Mining and metals industry experience and professional credentials are preferred
Willingness to work long hours in an unpredictable setting
Strong writing and communication skills in English
Preference will be given to candidates with previous analytical experience in equity research
