Research Associate Analyst

Stella’s Place is a community-based, integrated peer and clinical mental health service for young adults (16-29 years) currently located in Toronto. We use innovative approaches to reach young adults in need of service, and clinical practices and processes that put these young adults in the ‘driver’s seat’ of their own recovery. Our services and programs are delivered onsite, at partnering organizations, and online.

We are seeking a contract Research Associate Analyst who has strong research, evaluation, and data analysis skills. Attention to detail is key as the position involves reporting metrics to funders and creating (as a team) internal evaluation reports. While they report to the Director of Research & Evaluation, they will also be responsible for engaging directly with other departments’ managers and frontline staff (including clinicians & peer supporters) to help improve data quality and to have a thorough understanding of how the organization runs its programs.

The position is a 1 year full-time, temporary position. We work in a hybrid model where 3 days per week are in-office located at 54 Wolseley St., Toronto.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Research Associate Analyst will participate in all aspects of the research & evaluation, including but not limited to:

- Quantitative data analyses including repeated measures statistical comparisons
- Overseeing data management: exporting data from online platforms & performing data cleaning as necessary
- Qualitative analyses of participants’ feedback and as part of mixed-methods research studies
- Developing recommendations with staff for improvements to the platform and programming
- Project reporting both oral and written for a variety of audiences

Skills Required:
The Research Associate Analyst should possess strong working knowledge of the research process and have expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Sciences, Public Health, Health Informatics, or related. Graduate degree preferred.
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative analyses
- Experience creating, administering, and analyzing surveys following proper survey design & methods
- Experience engaging with non-technical staff and working collaboratively with them
- Experience contributing to research studies in a healthcare community context, particularly mixed methods studies
- Advanced computer skills with knowledge of programs such as Excel / Google Sheets, SPSS, NVivo, and Google Suite
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize research & evaluation findings and prepare / present results to various audiences using a range of approaches (e.g. summary reports, public forums, conference presentations, data visualization, mapping, etc.)
