Manager, Insurance Accounting & Reporting
About the Company

About the OpportunityThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading key accounting and reporting activities within the insurance finance function. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Actuarial, and Operations while ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and supporting strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Review and approve accounting journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting analysis prepared by team members.
Develop and maintain accounting procedures and controls to ensure accurate and efficient financial reporting.
Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual financial performance reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Support the preparation of financial statements, regulatory filings, and other reporting requirements.
Lead balance sheet and income statement analyses, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial information.
Interpret and apply technical accounting guidance to support compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Partner with business leaders across Finance, Risk, Actuarial, and Operations to support decision-making and reporting requirements.
Coordinate activities related to audits, regulatory reviews, and external reporting requests.
Lead and support finance initiatives involving process improvements, systems implementations, automation, and reporting enhancements.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, strengthen controls, and increase operational efficiency.
QualificationsCPA designation required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.5+ years of progressive experience within insurance accounting, financial reporting, or a related finance function.
Strong experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
Experience supporting regulatory reporting requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting systems.
Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP is considered an asset.
