SMS Equipment is looking for a Regional Inventory Planner to oversee day-to-day inventory control procedures and support the effective management of parts inventory. This role will help execute SMS Equipment’s centralized inventory strategy by monitoring inventory performance, supporting customer fleets, and collaborating with Parts Managers, the Corporate Parts team, manufacturers, and other stakeholders.   Work

- $90,000 annually. Work Arrangement: Hybrid, providing the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week. Schedule: Monday to Friday.   What You’ll Do
* Monitor key performance indicators related to total parts inventory value, inventory turns, non-turning inventory, and obsolescence.
* Develop annual inventory control objectives, including appropriate inventory levels, turnover rates, fill rates, and controls for obsolete inventory.
* Evaluate inventory control systems and make decisions related to inventory planning and replenishment.
* Analyze inventory requirements and recommend medium and long-term plans to support customer fleets.
* Collaborate with the Manager, Parts Business Technologies & Strategic Projects to develop policies and procedures that support branch operations.
* Participate in meetings to address internal and customer concerns.
* Complete inventory counts and reconciliations, coordinate parts returns, and perform and analyze weekly stock orders.
* Review minimum and maximum inventory levels, escalate backorders, and support forward planning for equipment maintenance.
* Monitor and follow up on purchase orders with Komatsu and other assigned suppliers using ERP software and company-approved processes.
* Work with internal teams, manufacturers, suppliers, and customers to maintain appropriate inventory coverage while minimizing stockouts and overages.
* Research and recommend improvements to inventory control systems and processes. What You Bring The successful candidate will have post-secondary education and 5 to 7 years of related parts and inventory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience managing parts and inventory control will be considered.   Other requirements include:
* Extensive knowledge of parts distribution and inventory management.
* Strong Excel analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet skills.
* Purchasing planning or inventory planning experience.
* Parts experience, with a Red Seal or Parts Technician certification considered an asset.
* Experience using ERP software and parts or inventory management systems.
* Strong short-term and long-range planning abilities.
* Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and complete projects.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to build productive relationships with management, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Strong recordkeeping, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment when working with a variety of individuals and groups.
