Position: Technical Trainer, Talent IncubationLocation: Downtown Toronto (Hybrid, 3 days in office/week) - First Canadian Place, 100 King Street WestLevel: Mid-Senior Level, Individual Contributor/TrainerReports to: Training Manager, Talent IncubationOverviewAs a Technical Trainer with Jarvis' Talent Incubation program, you'll play a key hands-on role in developing the next generation of tech professionals. You'll deliver highly engaging technical training, guide trainees through real-world problem solving, and contribute to curriculum development across backend, frontend, or full-stack engineering. You will also support foundational modules across Data Engineering and Business Systems Analysis (BSA) pathways, ensuring trainees are prepared for a range of client-facing roles.You'll partner closely with the Training Manager and internal stakeholders to ensure that our training programs remain aligned with industry expectations and evolving client needs.What You'll DoTraining Delivery & FacilitationTeach and mentor cohorts of early-career technologists across backend, frontend, or full-stack engineering.Coach trainees in programming (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.), SQL, Git, Agile methodologies, and foundational software engineering principles.Deliver or support foundational training modules for Data Engineering (SQL for data workflows, ETL basics, Python for data, cloud data fundamentals).Deliver or support BSA-focused sessions (requirements gathering, user stories, workflow diagrams, documentation best practices).Run hands-on labs, code reviews, project walkthroughs, and technical workshops.Curriculum & Program ContributionCollaborate with the Training Manager to refine and update course materials, exercises, and assessments.Help design practical, scenario-based modules aligned with emerging technologies and client requirements across software, data, and BSA learning paths.Contribute feedback to continuously improve training tools, delivery approaches, and content relevance.Trainee Success & SupportProvide 1:1 coaching, technical troubleshooting assistance, and ongoing skill-development guidance.Support cohort onboarding, progress evaluations, and readiness assessments for placement opportunities.Partner with HR and business teams to ensure trainee engagement and success throughout the talent pipeline.Community & CultureParticipate in events, hackathons, showcases, and community-building initiatives hosted by Jarvis.Help foster an inclusive, empowering, and growth-oriented environment for all trainees.What You BringTechnical Experience4-7+ years of experience in technical training and/or software development/data engineering/BSA comboStrong proficiency in one or more backend languages (Java, Python, JavaScript/Node, Go, etc.).Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a strong asset.Solid understanding of SQL, Git, Agile/Scrum, and core engineering best practices.Foundational knowledge of Data Engineering concepts (ETL, data pipelines, Python for data, SQL-heavy workflows, or cloud data fundamentals).Training & Coaching SkillsPassion for teaching, mentoring, and developing early-career talent.Strong communication skills with ability to break down complex concepts.Experience delivering workshops, tutoring, onboarding new engineers, or leading internal knowledge-sharing sessions.Ability to teach or support BSA fundamentals, including user stories, requirements documentation, and process mapping.Nice to HaveExposure to Data Engineering, ML/AI, or cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).Previous bootcamp, academic, or enterprise training experience.Certification in Agile, Scrum, or related areas.Why Join Us?
