As a Technical Writer, you'll play a key role in transforming complex technical information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly content. You'll collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fellow writers in a dynamic, quality-driven environment where your expertise and attention to detail make a real impact. The QMS/QA Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Sonovision's deliverables consistently meet established quality standards and that the company's Quality Management System (QMS) remains compliant with ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements. This role combines hands-on quality assurance activities with the ownership and maintenance of QMS documentation, audit readiness, and continuous improvement processes. The QMS/QA Specialist acts as the primary resource for quality topics, supporting both operational teams and management in upholding and advancing Sonovision's quality objectives. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Quality Management (or equivalent technical discipline), or • 5+ years' experience in quality assurance, process improvement, or technical documentation. • Formal training or certification in Quality Management Systems (ISO9001, AS9100, or equivalent) is required. • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective/preventive action planning, and regulatory compliance. • Strong analytical skills, with experience in data analysis, reporting, and risk assessment. • Excellent communication skills, able to translate requirements into procedures and reports. • Experience supporting audits and continuous improvement projects Responsibilities: Quality Assurance (QA) • Perform regular quality checks on deliverables as part of the production workflow. • Review, update, and maintain customer-specific checklists and quality guidelines. • Participate in customer meetings as needed, providing clear root cause and corrective action (RCCA) plans. • Support Operations Managers in investigating quality escapes and developing corrective actions. • Lead monthly quality review meetings to discuss recent issues and share lessons learned. • Provide completion schedules and estimates for non-billable QA tasks. Quality Management System (QMS) • Own the maintenance, revision, and audit-readiness of all QMS documentation, including the Quality Manual, Management System Procedures, Work Instructions, and Customer-Specific Guidelines. • Act as the primary QMS representative for both internal and external audits, ensuring all records and objective evidence are available and up to date. • Develop, implement, and monitor quality policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Train and support staff on QMS requirements, quality standards, and audit procedures, ensuring company-wide understanding and compliance. • Communicate updates to quality policies and procedures across the organization, using internal platforms such as SharePoint and Jira. • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning following audit findings or quality escapes and track the implementation of corrective actions. • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, leveraging feedback from audits, customer input, and quality data. • Advise management on quality strategy and compliance risks, contributing to company-wide decision-making on quality initiatives. • Regularly interface with executive management and external auditors as the company's designated QMS representative.
