BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANJOB DESCRIPTIONOur client is looking for a Building Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of commercial and industrial buildings. You will help ensure facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming for occupants.WHAT YOU WILL DOEnsure the proper operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systemsRespond to tenant service requests through the PRISME platformPerform general maintenance tasks as requiredMonitor contracted work and report any issues or anomaliesEnsure compliance with building standards and regulationsInspect the building from all operational perspectives (interior and exterior) and ensure corrective actions and maintenance are properly carried outPerform basic interior repair work, including door hardware, patching, painting, ceiling/floor tiles, and other minor repairsMaintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance and service areasRegularly inspect safety systems (alarm systems, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, sprinklers)Responsible for updating Risk Check and validating information with the operations teamParticipate in operational and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) meetingsConduct OHS inspections and complete required corrective actionsManage the key system and access control systemWork closely with management and operations teamsPerform any other related tasks associated with the positionWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORA DEP (vocational diploma) in general building maintenance is considered an assetExperience in building maintenanceStrong initiative and resourcefulness, with the ability to multitask and solve problems independentlyMechanical skills are considered an assetAbility to work as part of a team, strong interpersonal skills, and a customer service mindsetFamiliarity with Microsoft Office softwareBilingual in French and English*, both spoken and writtenMajority of the time spent standing or walking; frequent movement requiredAbility to frequently lift and carry equipment and toolsAvailability for evening and weekend on-call rotation for emergency callsAccess to a vehicle is considered an asset for easy travel between portfolio properties (mileage reimbursed)Knowledge in :PlumbingElectricalCarpentryMechanical SystemsPaintingPlasteringEtc.
