Gateway offers flexible learning options, including in-person and online sessions, to meet the diverse needs of our community.Role DescriptionWe are seeking an English and Social Sciences Academic Tutor for a part-time hybrid role based in Vancouver, BC, with opportunities for remote work. The role involves providing personalized tutoring to individual students or small groups, preparing lesson plans aligned with the students' needs, and assisting them in improving their English language skills, including grammar, writing, and comprehension. Additional responsibilities include monitoring academic progress, providing constructive feedback, and supporting students with effective studying and learning strategies to foster academic achievement and confidence.QualificationsExperience in Teaching, Tutoring, or conducting Private ClassesStrong educational background in English, Education, or related fieldsEffective Communication and mentoring skills to engage with studentsBasic knowledge of Mathematics and other core academic concepts is a plusOrganizational skills and the ability to design tailored lesson plansPatience, empathy, and a passion for fostering students' academic growthFamiliarity with online and hybrid teaching tools is an assetBachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field is highly desired
