Change Management Specialist

As WorkplaceNL's Change Management Specialist, you will lead change management activities for a diverse range of service modernization initiatives. You will also assist with the development and execution of detailed change management strategies, plans and tactics that promotes innovation in service delivery and encourages a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.

Role Responsibilities

  • Evaluate change-related requirements and measures to enable success, which includes assessing key stakeholders, analyzing change impacts and evaluating organizational change readiness.

  • Engage with project managers, project teams, internal communications and training resources to ensure change management activities are integrated, coordinated and aligned with project, training and communications activities.

  • Monitor the execution of change plans to measure progress and track issues, reporting any issues and providing recommendations to address those issues.
  • Identify areas of anticipated resistance and use sound judgment to develop appropriate, fit-for-purpose tactics to overcome that resistance across a diverse range of complex initiatives.

  • Provide change management advice during the development of new modernization strategies, programs, policies and initiatives, and influence their development by providing recommendations to minimize resistance and increase adoption. 
  • Develop productive relationships with stakeholders to design and deliver customized learning programs and activities to enable organizational change, which includes leading targeted learning tasks and deliverables to a variety of audiences to support change.

  • Monitor the adoption of modernization programs, policies and other initiatives, analyzing opportunities to increase adoption and provide recommendationsfor action.

Essential Skills and Qualifications  

  • University degree in business, adult education, human resources, social sciences or a related area. 

  • A post-secondary certificate or designation in change management, or a willingness to obtain one, is required. Training in instructional design, curriculum development, adult learning principles, or project management will be considered an asset. 

  • Three years' progressive experience in leading change on technology projects using organizational change management methodologies, techniques and tools. Expertise and knowledge of current and innovative change management principles, strategies and trends. Knowledge of project management standards and practices.

  • Significantly contributing to service modernization success at WorkplaceNL by understanding and adapting change management approaches while leading employee development and adoption of new technologies or work processes.

  • Participating in multiple, diverse projects and work assignments, and managing multiple deliverables to meet tight deadlines.

  • Ability to take initiative, recognize opportunities for improvements and innovation and present recommendations, strategies and actions to leverage the opportunities. 

  • Building collaborative relationships across the organization and adding your expertise, experience and knowledge to contribute to successful WorkplaceNL programs, services and projects.
