Job Title: Server - Four Points by Sheraton, Cambridge, Ontario.

Department: Food & Beverage

Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Supervisor

Position Summary

As a Server at Four Points Hotel, you will deliver exceptional dining experiences by providing professional, attentive, and personalized service to guests. You will ensure that all Marriott brand standards are upheld while maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment in the restaurant, lounge, or banquet settings.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet and seat guests promptly in a friendly and professional manner.

- Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions regarding food and beverages.

- Take accurate food and beverage orders and input them into the POS system.

- Serve meals and drinks in accordance with Marriott service standards and timing guidelines.

- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience; anticipate needs and respond promptly to requests.

- Ensure tables are properly set, cleared, and reset for the next guests.

- Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism, escalating to management when necessary.

- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service.

- Process payments, handle cash/credit transactions, and balance checks accurately.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, including adherence to health and safety regulations.

- Support banquet service, room service, and special events as required.

Qualifications

- Previous serving experience in a hotel, restaurant, or banquet environment preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused mindset.

- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service standards an asset.

- Smart Serve or equivalent alcohol service certification (required in Ontario and many regions).

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays of food and beverages.

- Flexible availability, including early morning shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Reliable means of transportation to and from the hotel (personal vehicle required).
