Job Description

We're looking for a reliable Shipper Receiver to join our Shipping & Receiving team in Mississauga. In this role, you'll support the smooth flow of bakery products through the production and distribution process. You'll be responsible for organizing, verifying, and tracking shipments while ensuring accuracy, food safety, and quality standards are met. This position ensures all incoming and outgoing goods meet quality, safety, and documentation requirements in accordance with BRC and GMP standards. The role supports efficient movement of bakery products from production to distribution while upholding high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.

Pay starts at: $19/hr and Shift timings are Monday - Saturday (flexible i.e Morning/Afternoon/Evening).

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and ship products accurately, maintaining quality and timely delivery standards.
  • Inspect all incoming trucks for GMP compliance, including cleanliness, sanitation, and temperature requirements.
  • Load and unload trucks and shipping containers safely using proper equipment.
  • Verify all product identifications and descriptions against purchase orders.
  • Record deliveries and shipments in accordance with BRC requirements and daily logs.
  • Ensure shipments include accurate and complete documentation (Bill of Lading (BOL), packing slips, shipping labels).
  • Inspect outgoing shipments for proper labeling, temperature accuracy, and documentation.
  • Organize and store received goods in designated areas promptly while maintaining FIFO inventory control.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and record freezer and warehouse stock levels.
  • Stage products in the freezer and on loading docks to ensure only quality-approved items are shipped.
  • Follow all GMP, Health & Safety, and allergen control procedures to maintain food safety compliance.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the warehouse, freezer, and shipping/receiving areas.
  • Operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
  • Work safely in temperature-controlled environments (-18°C).

Qualifications

  • About 1 year experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations (food industry experience is an asset).
  • Knowledge of GMP, BRC, and food safety practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bills of Lading, packing slips, and shipping documentation.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Comfortable working in cold storage or freezer environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and labeling.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work rotational shifts (morning, afternoon, night).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
