Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Shop Manager, the Shipper-Receiver is responsible for ensuring accurate and seamless outgoing shipments. The Shipper-Receiver shall load shipments regularly to ensure a timely delivery to project sites. The individual will work closely with all functions within the shop associates, Foreman and Shop Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Able to empty and load delivery trucks using shipping/receiving material/methods including Crane Use
  • Coordinating product deliveries
  • Communication with Foreman, drivers, field labor and Shop Manager to ensure accurate timely product deliveries both incoming and outgoing
  • Match product shipments with purchase orders
  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking
  • Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required
  • Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Follow current standards and procedures
  • Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete
  • Taking out scrap material/garbage
  • Cleaning and sweeping the shop working area
  • Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Manager

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Forklift Certificate license is an asset
  • 2+ years' experience working in a shipping/receiving environment
  • Able to write, print and read information and work on computer systems

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

· Day shift with the ability to work excess/overtime hours were required

· Able to work well with internal staff and management

· Able to drive, walk and sit (desk work) regularly/as required

· Able to lift up to 40lbs (hand bombing of sheet metal or piping material, etc.)

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 30 per week
