Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated certified Personal Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and those requiring support in various living environments such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care settings. Your primary goal will be to enhance the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and support.

Duties

As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support to individuals with disabilities or dementia.
  • Assisting with meal preparation and ensuring proper nutrition for clients.
  • Performing light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Supporting clients in engaging in social activities and community involvement.
  • Documenting client progress and reporting any changes in health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or providing dementia care is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with patients with behaviour issues.
  • Previous experience in nursing homes or assisted living facilities is a plus.
  • Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient care and empathy.
  • Ability to prepare meals that meet dietary needs of clients.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized living space for clients.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to accommodate client schedules.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
