Your Role on Our Team  
The Supervised Group Support Facilitator will work within group-based programs at SAAAC Autism Centre, supporting staffing needs across teams and locations. 
The Supervised Group Support Facilitator will help deliver group-based skill-building sessions (i.e., working with up to 12 children in a group and supporting other facilitators) in the areas of communication, behaviour management/emotional regulation, social/interpersonal skills, functional routines and pre-academics to children/youth diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, all located in Scarborough.  
The Supervised Group Support Facilitator will employ ABA teaching strategies under the direction of an RBA (Registered Behaviour Analyst) and possibly a Supervised Senior Therapist. 
Depending on the specific program, this position will report to a designated program manager. All other reporting will be to the ABA Group Clinical Supervisor. 
 
Main Responsibilities  
·       Implement appropriate activities for children designed to help them reach their personal goals, including the following: engage in activities such as singing, storytelling, acting, modelling play skills, and play 
·       Provide ABA services to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in a group-based service model. Groups will include up to 12 children/youth aged 2-17 years old, under the supervision of an RBA, and possibly a Supervised Senior Therapist 
·       Deliver group-based curriculums targeting various skills (e.g., social skills, group readiness, conversation skills, emotional regulation , etc.)  
·       Support with various assessments needed for client programming (e.g., in-person group assessments, preference assessments, baseline assessments) 
·       Use ABA Strategies within the group curriculum and adhere to each client's behaviour plan that focuses on meeting their individualized goals  
·       Being open to receiving and implementing feedback provided by supervisors and team members 
·       Complete administrative tasks: Prepare and organize the teaching environments and materials needed, updating data sheets and the Penelope system, etc. 
·       Review and support in maintaining the client's program file 
·       Utilize sound clinical judgment and appropriate antecedent strategies to support a successful group session (e.g., visuals, timer, first-then board, visual schedule) 
·       Responsible for collecting data during each session, data tracking and analysis, including graphing and summarizing information at the end of each session 
·       Flags exceptional circumstances as well as the need for potential changes to the teaching plan with the RBA 
·       Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, caregivers, internal teams, and volunteers, demonstrated through verbal and written communication 
·       Support in reducing clients' challenging behaviors (e.g., aggression, self-injurious behaviours, property destruction, sensory behaviors) by collecting data, utilizing clinical judgement, using antecedent and consequent-based strategies, utilizing appropriate SMG strategies, and adhering to the client's behaviour support plan 
·       Address personal care requirements of the client during session (e.g., toileting, diaper changes, assisting with changing clothes, etc.) 
·       Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients and team members (e.g., sanitizing toys, assisting with cleaning, etc.) 
·       Ensure the safety of clients by following SAAAC health and safety protocols and adhering to SAAAC's policies and procedures. 
 
Minimum Qualifications
·       University degree or College diploma in Behavioural Sciences, Social Services, Psychology or Early Childhood Education 
·       Minimum of 1 year's work experience delivering ABA programming 
·       Have a good understanding of Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis 
·       Previous experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or Autism 
·       Required to work evenings and weekends and open to schedule rotations (i.e., Monday – Friday or Tuesdays – Saturdays; 10:30 am – 6:30 pm or 8:30 am – 4:30 pm shifts, or similar) 
·       Required to work shifts at all SAAAC's operating locations, depending on support needed 
·       Access to a reliable means of transportation (e.g., personal vehicle) 
·       Strong interpersonal and time-management skills 
·       Demonstrated reliability and dependability 
·       Strong interpersonal skills to gain the trust and respect of children and their parents. 
·       Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles. 
·       Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently 
·       Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams. 
·       Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and Outlook) 
·       Satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check 
·       Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 
Additional Requirement

Maintaining knowledge of and adhering to legislative requirements and professional standards 

Completing Centre administrative activities and requirements, including attendance, serious 

occurrences and incident reports 

Adhering to employee responsibilities for Health & Safety as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations 

Ability to spend most of the day at the child's level, i.e. sitting on the floor, or on child-height chairs 

Able to bend, stoop and lift a child to adult height (up to 45 lbs.) and to move children's furniture or equipment to prepare room for programming needs 

Update liability insurance on an annual basis 

Supporting 1:1 or dyad ABA teams as needed (i.e., session coverage, additional team support)
