Overview

Clerk I in the Public Works department reports directly to the Director of Public Works. The Public Works Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within the Public Works department.

Duties

  • Managing incoming communications
  • Coordinating department meetings
  • Facilitating interdepartmental and public communications
  • Tracking work orders to ensure timely completion
  • Managing the schedule of the Director of Public Works
  • Arranging team training
  • Preparing reports
  • Procuring supplies and equipment
  • Coordinating schedules with utility providers and contractors

Required Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Satisfactory results from a criminal record check and drivers abstract.

Experience

  • 1-year previous experience in an administrative role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in the use of computers with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Outlook and Teams and the ability to use a variety of software
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships
  • Excellent communication and comprehension ability – written and oral
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask effectively

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $24.37 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
