Central
Interior Native Health Society (CINHS) is a vibrant urban Indigenous Integrated
Health Team Centre and educational facility situated on Lheidli T'enneh
territory in Prince George, BC. The Clinic's inter-disciplinary team provides
trauma-informed and culturally safe, medical and psychosocial services to some
of the most vulnerable members of our community.

 The
Occupational Therapist (OT) will play a crucial role in promoting physical,
mental, emotional, and spiritual health, aligned with Indigenous perspectives
on wellness. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, Elders, Knowledge
Holders, wellness counselors, and social workers to provide services that
support clients' functional abilities and help them engage in meaningful
activities in their daily lives.

As
a part-time OT, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with clients on
developing strategies to manage chronic conditions, overcome barriers to
health-promoting behaviors, and foster independence and participation in
cultural and community-based activities.

Key
Responsibilities:

Provide
culturally safe occupational therapy services to Indigenous clients,
addressing the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of
health.Collaborate
with CINHS interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.Conduct
client assessments and interventions for activities of daily living
(ADLs), chronic disease management, mental health and substance misuse
support, and aging-in-place.Facilitate
client access to traditional activities such as land-based healing and
cultural practices, supporting overall emotional and spiritual well-being.Offer
home safety assessments and outreach services to meet the diverse needs of
the community.Educate
clients and their families about adaptive strategies and assistive devices
that enhance participation in daily activities.Support
clients in managing functional challenges such as mobility, self-care, and
productivity through tailored interventions.Attend
CINHS team meetings to collaborate on case discussions and share insights
into client care.Ensure
all documentation and client records are up to date and aligned with CINHS
standards of care.Promote
culturally competent care and contribute to the organization's commitment
to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action.

Qualifications

Master's
degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized university.Current
registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British
Columbia (COTBC).Demonstrated
experience or interest in working with Indigenous communities and
understanding of Indigenous perspectives on health and healing.Knowledge
of trauma-informed and harm reduction approaches in healthcare.Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work
collaboratively in a non-hierarchical, team-based environment.Ability
to conduct assessments and interventions in both clinical and community
settings, including home visits.Flexibility,
cultural humility, and a commitment to continuous learning and
self-reflection.Previous
experience in primary care or with marginalized populations is an asset.Valid
driver's license and access to a vehicle for community visits is an asset.
