True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for dependable and motivated individuals to join our Culinary team at Canada Life Centre.

As a Banquet Cook, youwill be responsible for preparing safe, nutritious and appetizing food while delivering superior service at Canada Life Centre.

What to be excited for in this role:

  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
  • Prepare, cook and assemble menu items according to established recipes and standards using quality methods in a timely manner.
  • Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure quality control and log them.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling techniques.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and service employees, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Help train new kitchen staff in proper cooking techniques and safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as required that align with the responsibilities of the role and the needs of the organization.

What we need from you:

  • Previous experience in the food industry or as a cook is preferred.
  • Experience in catering and breakfast is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking methods, and food preparation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Reliable, punctual, and regular in attendance.
  • Capability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
