Benevity's Financial Operations Lead will help drive the success of all the daily requests from stakeholders regarding our financial processes. The Financial Operations Lead is responsible for making sure daily requests from stakeholders are answered in a timely and accurate manner. The Financial Operations Lead will have intimate knowledge of the operation and provide training to the members of the team on existing processes and manage the incorporation of new processes. This individual should be comfortable monitoring the details of the operation, ensuring world class execution. This role would require you to work in a hybrid environment, between the Calgary Benevity head office, and working remotely. Relocation would be required if you are not living in Calgary.
What you'll do:
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of the financial processes for the charitable foundations
- Manage 1-2 major team projects to develop, implement and maintain scalable protocols and processes using low code/no code tools like VBA, AppScript, ETLs and airtable.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert(SME) insight into the financial processes and possible opportunities and risks
- Train and coach the team on the existing processes as well as newly implemented processes
- Monitor the operational metrics and following up as required to meet targets and goals
- Identify and remove barriers as the team iterates and moves through the process development cycle
What you'll bring:
- Results-oriented and is resourceful and proactive
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interact with enterprise level clients as well as various levels of internal stakeholders to effectively communicate goals, requirements and proposed solutions
- 5-7 years of experience in identifying, mapping and implementing business problems to complex technical/technology solutions
- Experience working in a Tech/SaaS environment with a relevant bachelors degree in a related field (Business, Computer Science or Engineering)
- A commitment to both client success and operational effectiveness
- Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable overseeing a variety of issues to resolution with an analytical mindset
- Ability to work independently with strong judgment
- Resilient, and thrives in a multi-tasking, start-up environment and can adjust priorities on-the-fly while managing a diverse and full workload
- Proficient in the MS Office suite of products
- Team-oriented with a fun-spirit and sense of humor
