Position Summary

The Assistant Site Superintendent supports the Site Superintendent in coordinating and supervising daily construction activities on site. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations. Acting as a key link between the site team, subcontractors, consultants, and project management, the Assistant Superintendent helps maintain smooth operations and resolves on-site challenges to keep the project on track.

This position offers strong potential for growth into a Site Superintendent role as Alabaster continues to expand.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Superintendent with day-to-day site coordination, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
  • Support trade sequencing, inspections, and material deliveries to maintain efficient progress on all phases of construction.
  • Monitor site safety and enforce WorksafeBC requirements through regular inspections and toolbox meetings.
  • Maintain daily site documentation including reports, photos, and manpower logs to support project tracking and communication.
  • Foster teamwork and clear communication between site staff, subcontractors, consultants, and the project management team.

Other duties and responsibilities as required in accordance with the needs of the business.

Who You Are

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in multi-family or commercial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of the construction process and proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative site team.
  • Proven ability to oversee projects from initiation through completion, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency throughout every phase.
  • Hands-on leader who motivates teams, fosters collaboration, and maintains a positive, solution-oriented work environment across all levels — from site crews to sub-trades.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to adapt to different audiences and situations; brings resilience, initiative, and a problem-solving mindset to every challenge.
  • Eligible to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or valid working visa) required.

Total Compensation Package

  • Base annual compensation ranging from $80,000 to $95,000. depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Vacation & Time Off Package.
  • Extended Health & Dental Benefits upon successful completion of a mandatory three-month probationary period.
