About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established mid-sized public accounting firm located in Toronto, is seeking a
Junior Staff Accountant
to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone in the early stages of their accounting career who is looking to build a strong foundation in public practice while being mentored by experienced professionals.

You'll gain hands-on experience working with a variety of small to mid-sized private clients across different industries, supporting year-end files, tax preparation, and assurance work. This role offers excellent exposure, long-term growth potential, and a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities


• Assist in preparing year-end working paper files for compilation and review engagements


• Support corporate and personal tax return preparation (T2s, T1s, T3s)


• Prepare basic financial statements and assist with audit testing as required


• Gather and organize client documentation and respond to client inquiries


• Work with team members to ensure files are completed on time and to a high standard


• Maintain accurate and organized records within the firm's systems

About You


• 0–2 years of public accounting experience


• Enrolled in or planning to pursue the CPA designation


• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and tax concepts


• Familiar with tools such as CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks, or similar software


• Strong attention to detail and time management skills


• Willingness to learn and grow in a supportive team setting


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
