As a member of the Indigenous Health team, the Indigenous Recruitment and Retention Ambassador is responsible for supporting recruitment and retention activities in the assigned Health Service Delivery Area (HSDA) by collaborating with the Recruitment team and by engaging with NH Indigenous employees, managers, FNHA, Métis Chartered Communities, Indigenous nations and communities, Indigenous organizations across the North, and Indigenous students in the Northern Health region with the aim of increasing retention and recruitment of Indigenous talent. Collaborating closely with the Regional Lead, Indigenous Recruitment, the Recruitment team, the Indigenous Recruitment and Retention Ambassador brings Indigenous knowledge and perspectives to the creation of recruitment and retention initiatives for Indigenous employees, applicants, Indigenous nations and communities .This position is also responsible for ensuring new Indigenous recruits are supported through the onboarding stages of the employee life cycle, while supporting retention of existing Indigenous professionals. The Indigenous Recruitment and Retention Ambassador maintains consistent contact with local First Nations schools, elementary and secondary schools to engage Indigenous students in future opportunities in healthcare. This position liaises with hiring managers, reviews policies and practices that affect Indigenous recruitment, onboarding, retention, and recommends improvements.
Starting salary will be approximately from $62,239 to $77,799 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications- Education, training, and experience equivalent to a Diploma in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Human Resources and a minimum of three (3) years' recent, related experience working with Indigenous communities/nations and Indigenous job seekers.
