Outside Sales Representative
with strong experience in lighting to join our team.
Position Overview
The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for building strong relationships with distributors, contractors, and specifiers, while driving sales of our Product lines throughout the region. This role requires deep knowledge of lighting products, the ability to read plans/spec sheets, and a passion for technical solution-selling is an asset.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, electrical contractors, engineers, and lighting designers.
• Promote and present our full product portfolio to new and existing customers.
• Conduct regular field visits, product demos, lunch-and-learns, and training sessions.
• Identify project opportunities, track specifications, and support quoting through the sales cycle.
• Collaborate with inside sales and manufacturers to ensure accurate pricing and timely delivery.
• Attend trade shows, industry events, and manufacturer training sessions as needed.
• Maintain CRM records, weekly activity reports, and territory plans.
Qualifications
•
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical sales
(manufacturer, rep agency, distributor or contractor)
• Knowledge of lighting design, controls, specification selling, and industry standards is an asset.
• Strong relationships within the electrical distribution and contractor community (asset).
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/specifications.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the territory.
