Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Denture Technician to join our dynamic dental laboratory team. In this vital role, you will lead the fabrication and customization of dentures, ensuring each prosthesis meets the highest standards of fit, function, and aesthetics. Your expertise will support the delivery of exceptional patient care by collaborating closely with dental professionals and maintaining precise laboratory processes. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, fabrication, and finishing of complete and partial dentures with precision and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to interpret prescriptions, treatment plans, and patient-specific requirements.
  • Ensure all dental prostheses adhere to strict quality control standards, including proper occlusion, esthetics, and durability.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and records related to denture fabrication processes, utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
  • Apply advanced laboratory techniques such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and 3D printing for precise denture creation.
  • Follow infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile working environment.
  • Conduct regular quality checks using tools like micrometers to verify dimensions and fit.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in dental fabrication, materials, and technology to continuously improve craftsmanship.
  • Assist with training junior technicians and providing mentorship within the laboratory team.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and medical records.

Skills

  • Extensive laboratory experience in denture fabrication, including both traditional methods and digital techniques such as CAD/CAM systems.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical imaging relevant to prosthetic design.
  • Proficiency in chairside assisting skills to facilitate effective communication with clinical staff during procedures.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems like Epic or similar platforms for managing patient data securely.
  • Understanding of infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe laboratory operations.
  • Ability to interpret medical documentation, coding (medical coding), and understand vital signs when applicable for comprehensive patient care coordination.
  • Experience working within a dental office environment or dental laboratory setting is highly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail with skills in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers for quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry considerations when fabricating dentures for younger patients is a plus.
