Senior Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting.
Reporting to the Manager, Inventory Accounting, this position provides unique insight into the enterprise inventory accounting process for our client. The Senior Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting is an essential part of the Accounting team and will require experience establishing relationships with key clients across Finance and Business groups to ensure business initiatives are accounted for appropriately. Your technical expertise and analytical skills are critical for success, as is your ability to communicate and collaborate while undertaking multiple projects and deadlines. What you'll do

  • Ensure the financial results are in compliance with IFRS and provide accurate and timely reports and analysis to management on a monthly basis
  • Prepare and review significant analyses, entries, and reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting process for enterprise inventory, shrink, and obsolescence provisions
  • Launch investigations, analyze significant variances, key metrics and business trends and present findings to managers and senior management
  • Analyze and implement the impact of business contracts and/or regulatory and accounting changes to processes and controls
  • Identify and execute improvements to complex models and processes
  • Effectively manage communications and relationships with business partners, accounting, and internal and external auditors
  • Run multiple tasks simultaneously and independently with minimal supervision
  • Execute and maintain documentation of controls
  • Coach and aid in the development of team members

What you bring

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance areas
  • CPA designation required (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a medium/large company with strong IFRS knowledge working with complex accounting models
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the "big picture" in a complex business environment and natural curiosity to understand the reason behind transactions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Detail oriented with strong diagnostic, analytical and data management skills
  • Proven ability to successfully lead other team members
  • Ability to thrive in an environment responsive to changing business requirements
  • Highly driven with an exceptionally strong work ethic, time management and organization skills
  • Advanced PC skills including Microsoft suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with internal and external audit processes
  • Working knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft accounting system and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is an asset
