Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada Mara Renewables Corp Full time $40,000 - $60,000 per year

Company Overview

At Mara Renewables Corporation (Mara), we exist to re-engineer nature's pantry, reimagine human nutrition, and revitalize wellness and the environment. We believe there has never been a more critical need to evolve health ingredients for human nutrition and related industries using the power of science and nature to build a more sustainable and healthier world.

Mara's remarkable journey has transformed us from a research & development startup into a global leader within the algal omega-3 oil industry, encompassing pivotal sectors such as food, beverage, and infant nutrition. Our commitment to commercializing our unique patent-protected technologies, coupled with the expertise of our diverse and exceptionally talented team, has been the driving force behind our success.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated co-op student/intern to support our Director of Regulatory Affairs. This role offers hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, product dossiers, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate is curious about applying scientific knowledge to real-world regulatory requirements rather than laboratory bench work. This is a 16-week hybrid position based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, beginning in early January 2026. It is open to students enrolled in a registered co-op program or individuals seeking an internship opportunity.

What You'll Do:

The main responsibilities of this position include:

  • Assist in compiling and reviewing technical and test information for product dossiers.
  • Support the preparation of certificates required for registrations (e.g., Quality Certificates, Free Sale Certificates, Health Certificates).
  • Collaborate with regulatory consultants to clarify technical information needed for submissions.
  • Contribute to technical aspects of product reviews, regulatory compliance, and document management.
  • Work closely with internal technical teams to ensure documentation aligns with regulatory standards.

What We're Looking For:

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Science-related program (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Food Science).
  • Interest in regulatory affairs and applying scientific knowledge to compliance and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external consultants.

What You'll Gain:

  • Direct exposure to regulatory strategy and compliance in a global company.
  • Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing product dossiers and regulatory documentation.
  • Mentorship from a senior regulatory expert.
  • Development of transferable skills in collaboration, critical thinking, and project management.

At Mara we value diversity, equity, and inclusion. We strongly encourage applications from all qualified candidates, including persons who identify as racially visible, Indigenous, persons with disabilities, women in underrepresented roles and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Mara supports candidates and employees with access and accommodation needs.
