Our construction client in Ottawa is looking for a dedicated
Health and Safety Coordinator
to support safety programs and ensure compliance across multiple active sites. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about building a strong safety culture.
Please note: Construction industry experience is non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with OHSA, WSIB, and MLITSD regulations.
Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and audits.
Support development and rollout of safety policies.
Deliver orientations and training (WHMIS, Working at Heights).
Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions.
Maintain emergency response plans and PPE inventory.
Collaborate with site teams and subcontractors.
Maintain accurate safety documentation.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety
WSIB JHSC Certification
Minimum 2 years of construction health & safety experience (required)
Strong knowledge of OHSA and WSIB requirements
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
Strong organizational and communication skills
