We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about building and maintaining a strong safety culture in a fast-paced environment. You'll play a key role in supporting operational teams, conducting safety training and inspections, and helping us reach our goal of zero incidents. If you're dependable, experienced, and have a proactive mindset toward health and safety, we encourage you to apply.
The Role:
- Deliver employee safety orientations and field-based training (e.g., WHMIS, PPE, SOPs)
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying hazards and issuing safety recommendations
- Monitor compliance with OHSA and company safety programs across employees and subcontractors
- Lead toolbox talks and support supervisors with safety meeting materials
- Perform job hazard analyses, develop safe work procedures, and assist with risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions through a continuous improvement approach
- Chair Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings, document minutes, and maintain safety boards
- Maintain first aid supplies, ensure timely reporting of incidents, and assist during emergencies
- Support integration of safety, quality, and environmental initiatives across operations
You Will Bring:
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or construction safety role
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety
- CRSP and/or CHSC designation preferred
- Valid JHSC certification and First Aid/CPR
- Strong knowledge of OHSA legislation and experience executing safety strategies
- Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- A collaborative, proactive approach and a strong personal commitment to safety
