Our client is looking to hire a
Plant Accountant
to play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting for their Burlington manufacturing facility. You'll analyze production costs, monitor inventory, and provide insights that drive better business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate standards (BCNA)
- Support annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis (SG&A and plant operations)
- Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, HST/QST remittances, and inter-company transactions
- Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, and cost variance reporting
- Review raw material vendor invoices and coordinate wire payments
- Conduct monthly labour analysis to track headcount and spending variances
- Partner with plant management to resolve discrepancies and improve financial accuracy
- Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting or Business
- CPA designation (or working toward it) preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience; manufacturing background strongly preferred
- Proficient with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
