Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Health & Safety, the Coordinator of Health & Safety is accountable for administering and maintaining H&S programs, policies and procedures and for meeting the Plant needs to support business priorities. Carries out administrative work involving the H&S functions and maintains related records.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist with the execution of Health & Safety processes for the plant.
  • Assist with employee onboarding for Health & Safety programs and training.
  • Implement and monitor the Safety Program to eliminate the risks causing workplace
  • accidents and injuries.
  • Accountable for identifying trends and areas of improvement and report monthly on health and safety statistics.
  • Participate in the JHSC, conduct workplace inspections and attend regular meetings.
  • Develop monthly safety talk material for Supervisors' talks.
  • Provide First Aid when needed
  • Implement and maintain Health & Safety programs such as LOTO.
  • Maintain all Health & Safety training records

Requirements

  • 1 year experience in a similar role an asset
  • Degree, Diploma or Certification in Occupational Health & Safety program. An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated prior experience in delivering Health & Safety programs.
  • PMP certification an asset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of WCB and Health and Safety considered an asset.
