Health and Safety Coordinator

Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Health & Safety, the Coordinator of Health & Safety is accountable for administering and maintaining H&S programs, policies and procedures and for meeting the Plant needs to support business priorities. Carries out administrative work involving the H&S functions and maintains related records.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist with the execution of Health & Safety processes for the plant.
- Assist with employee onboarding for Health & Safety programs and training.
- Implement and monitor the Safety Program to eliminate the risks causing workplace
- accidents and injuries.
- Accountable for identifying trends and areas of improvement and report monthly on health and safety statistics.
- Participate in the JHSC, conduct workplace inspections and attend regular meetings.
- Develop monthly safety talk material for Supervisors' talks.
- Provide First Aid when needed
- Implement and maintain Health & Safety programs such as LOTO.
- Maintain all Health & Safety training records
Requirements
- 1 year experience in a similar role an asset
- Degree, Diploma or Certification in Occupational Health & Safety program. An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated prior experience in delivering Health & Safety programs.
- PMP certification an asset
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of WCB and Health and Safety considered an asset.
