Recreation and Parks Maintenance

Join the Township of Wellington North as a Recreation and Parks Maintenance – Summer, on a Seasonal Fixed Term Contract, that will work from approximately May until end of August 2026. This position is subject to budget and grant approval through the Canada Summer Jobs program, and thus may be subject to change. Due to youth program funding, applications are encouraged from youth who are currently enrolled in school.

Maintain and beautify parks, sport fields and recreation grounds.
Operate small and light equipment (mowers, hedge trimmers, and power tools).
Assist with seasonal operations including trail clearing, signage setup, and field prep.
Perform general facility maintenance and minor building repairs (painting, washrooms, etc.).
Support special events, including setup, teardown, and operations.
Provide friendly customer service and respond to public inquiries.
Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Mechanical aptitude and safety conscious mindset.
First Aid/CPR
Other bonus skills include but not required: enrolled in post secondary education, and experience with turf maintenance, landscaping or parks operations.
This is a Seasonal Fixed Term Contract position, that works up to 35 hours per week.
Shifts will include early mornings, daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Comfortable working in all weather conditions and travelling across the Township to all different facilities.
Role involves standing, walking, lifting, and cleaning.
Pay Range: $18.00 per hour
