Infrastructure Ontario (IO), an Ontario crown corporation, provides a wide range of services to support the Ontario government's initiative to modernize and maximize the value of public infrastructure and realty. IO delivers some of the most complex, ambitious commercial and land development solutions for the Province and continues to evolve and expand its capabilities to maximize its public impact and deliver on its vision of creating a connected, modern and competitive Ontario.
Our Real Estate division manages the province's portfolio of government buildings and land, which is one of the largest and most diverse in the country. We oversee the day-to-day operations, long-term maintenance, and lead the execution of future strategy for these facilities through partnerships with private-sector Service Providers, the client users and internally across IO. We are responsible for ensuring provincially owned real estate is being used in the best, most optimal way. Finding innovative ways to reduce and revitalize the government's building and land holdings is central to our business and integral to the value we provide Ontarians.
We are currently looking for a Portfolio Real Estate Manager to provide leadership and real estate expertise in the development and implementation of asset management, capital investment, budget and financial management programs and initiatives, for an assigned portfolio ministries and programs that operate in the Province's Real Estate assets.
Work Location Options: This position offers flexibility to work from any of our 3 established office locations in Toronto, Kingston and Ottawa.
What You Will Do:
- Foster and promote strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop the best use of government assets focusing on aligning ministry requirements with current and future real estate requirements.
- Provide oversight and guidance to ensure delivery of cost-effective and sustainable property management solutions through collaboration with service providers and stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, oversight and guidance to Service Providers responsible for the execution of all property management services and solutions, including providing support during escalations and acting as the point of contact for unresolved operational matters.
- Develop briefing material, business case and scenario planning materials for Ministry and/or IO Senior Management.
- Hold Service Providers accountable to contractual and overall high delivery standards including scrutinizing sensitive operational matters (e.g., asbestos abatements, mould remediations), ensuring accurate operational reporting and providing financial oversight and stewardship including budget review/analysis.
What We're Looking For:
- The successful candidate should have a minimum of seven years experience in directly managing large multi-property portfolios, or equivalent time working in a real estate organization in a role adjacent to building operations, commercial leasing, and/or asset management.
- Bachelor's degree in Facility Management or related field; professional designations (CPM, CFM, RPA) considered an asset.
- Strong strategic planning, financial management, and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of property management, including leasing, property maintenance, outsourcing models, tenant relations, and reporting.
- Strategic planning skills, and solid understanding of infrastructure and property management issues, trends and solutions within public and private sectors.
- Experience in financial management and business planning, an ability to make decisions and exercise sound judgment in a sensitive environment, and the aptitude to identify problems, analyze and interpret data to make recommendations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment is a must.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite Office Products is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in the preparation of briefing notes, business cases, and other corporate reporting is an asset.

We offer a competitive salary range of $99,800 to $149,700 (PM5 level), pay will align with skills, knowledge and experience of the candidate.
