About the role
- As a member of the Operations and Maintenance team, the Maintenance Technologist will be responsible for the maintenance of functioning facilities and equipment required to ensure reliable product performance.
What you'll do
- Working within the Operations and Maintenance Team to:
· Respond to breakdown events to minimize impact to Production – troubleshoot and address equipment breakdowns or issues for various equipment including :
o Lathe Slitter
o rotary die cutter
o winder, laminator
o flatbed press
o strapping machine
o clicker press
o compressor units
· Coordinate, schedule & liaise with external maintenance service providers for complex production equipment or specialized equipment inspections and repairs
· troubleshoot & resolve minor facility & office repairs
· Track, record, Review metrics, KPIs, and ensure they are trending properly and hitting objectives
· Coordinate repair and inspection of specific building maintenance activities (dock doors, overhead lights/fans, jib crane )
· Determine and procure equipment maintenance supplies and spare parts, including storage and inventory. Support procurement for non-routine shopfloor supplies
· Manage tool and die system, including delivery, receipt, storage, to include maintaining and updating a die database, issuing POs, processing ERP transactions related to die orders and delivery, coordinating die related work & new die tests with supplier (internal or external)
· Manage the equipment repair ticketing & recording system
· Provide Equipment maintenance and repair hands on support to company owned offsite locations in Kitchener and London, ON
· Initiate or support & equipment improvement projects
· Lead regular (weekly or biweekly) equipment update meetings
· Represent maintenance in interdepartmental meetings, e.g new product Kick off meetings, Health & Safety meetings, major equipment repair meetings
Qualifications
- Completion of a College or University mechanical millwright, technologist, or technician Diploma, Degree, or Certification and 5 years of related experience working in an equipment maintenance position within the manufacturing industry.

· AutoCAD & Inventor
· Microsoft Suite
· Equipment design principles
· High volume manufacturing equipment maintenance
· Project management
· Effective written and verbal communication
Proactive approach to preventive maintenance
· OHSA safety requirements and standards
Working conditions:
Industrial factory Environment located in Oakville, Ontario with inclusive staff and leaders committed to learning and growth. Must be able to work Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. There will be periodic occasions where maintenance support will be required offsite at the company's facilities in Waterloo and London, ON but is expected to be less than 10% of the time
There may be a potential requirement for on-call maintenance in extremely rare instances of equipment breakdown during extended weekday or weekend runs. If call in is required, wages will be paid at a premium.
