Role Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Extraction Technician to carry out hydrocarbon extraction processes. This role is critical to our manufacturing operations, requiring attention to detail, technical proficiency, troubleshooting, and a commitment to quality and safety. The Extraction Technician will play a key role in ensuring production efficiency, meeting and documenting KPIs, and adhering to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation:
- Set up, clean, adjust, and operate extraction equipment.
- Monitor extraction performance during operation to ensure efficient and accurate production.
- Learn the operational specifics for each batch and apply them effectively during production.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep the equipment in optimal condition.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
Quality Assurance:
- Perform regular quality checks on products to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Document and report any deviations from quality specifications and take corrective actions as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow company guidelines and participate in safety training to maintain a safe work environment.
Documentation and Data Recording:
- Maintain accurate records of machine operations, production output, and any quality checks or deviations.
- Utilize digital tools or physical logs for data recording and reporting.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and record all activity in batch records.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Work closely with team members, supervisors, and technical staff to meet production goals and ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant Post-secondary education degree or diploma (ex. Mechanical Engineering Technology)
- 1-2 years demonstrated experience operating high pressure systems, especially hydrocarbon, ethanol, or supercritical carbon dioxide extraction processes
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn the operation, maintenance, and repair of new equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and performing basic machine repairs.
- Knowledge of quality control processes and the ability to perform quality checks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs - able to stand for prolonged periods.
- Required to pass criminal background check.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Microsoft Excel) for data entry.

Full-time - Schedule:
4PM-12AM (afternoon), Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
12PM - 8AM (overnight), Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
