Energy and Facilities Student

Position Description:
The incumbent will perform technical support duties relating to facility management activities for Norfolk County facilities. Related tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Assist Gas Technicians in various HVAC maintenance and installation duties.
- Assist Technicians with on-going building maintenance.
- Assist in the collection and organization of facility data and facility drawings.
- Assist with HVAC and building engineering tasks.
- Assist with the management of facilities capital construction projects.
- Assist with the collection, analysis and monitoring of energy data.
- Assist with the analysis of energy and sustainability projects.
- Assist with the corporate energy conservation awareness program.
- Assist with facility component inventory and data organization.
- Assist with annual energy reporting.
Qualifications:
- University or College student enrolled in mechanical/electrical engineering, architecture, or gas technician or facilities management course (or related field).
- Valid province of Ontario Class "G" license and access to a reliable vehicle including the ability to provide a drivers abstract when requested during the recruitment process.
- Computer expertise to apply Corporate software.
- Must be able to operate a pickup truck, small equipment, and power and hand tools.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Good time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in general operation of office equipment, i.e. computer, photocopier, etc.
Note:
Employment is conditional upon: attendance at all training sessions, submission of required documentation/certification, adherence to the minimum age requirements and ability to meet the employment term.
At time of application must be enrolled in a post-secondary education institution or institution of higher learning.
Applicants must submit a criminal record check (dated within the last 3 months) from their local police service for approval prior to commencing employment.
