We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage full-cycle accounting and administrative bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prepare complete books ready for tax filing, and comfort working directly with clients in both English and Spanish-speaking communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients using QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
  • Prepare and file GST/HST returns (quarterly and annually)
  • Process payroll for clients and complete necessary compliance filings, including WSIB reports
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts regularly to ensure accuracy
  • Track and manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, including follow-ups and vendor payments
  • Organize and maintain all client documentation, receipts, and financial records
  • Provide complete bookkeeping packages ready for tax preparation
  • Support accountants during year-end and tax season
  • Prepare financial statements, P&L reports, and other standard accounting documents
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather information and address questions
  • Handle CRA audit support and information requests
  • Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal regulations
  • Use cloud-based platforms to manage, upload, and organize client files
  • Provide occasional financial insights to help clients improve cash flow and cost efficiency
  • Work with diverse industries, such as restaurants, construction, janitorial services, brokerages, and auto dealerships

Scope & Work Environment

  • Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Typical schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with a 1-hour unpaid break
  • Hours of operation: Mon–Fri 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Sat 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. This is the required availability, not the schedule for every week.
  • Potential overtime during quarterly closings and tax season
  • Work directly with Toronto's Latino business community
  • Handle sensitive financial and tax information with accuracy and discretion
  • Adapt to each client's operational workflow and documentation style
  • Opportunities for growth into expanded administrative or tax-related responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Experience with full-cycle bookkeeping
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop & Online
  • Strong organizational and document-management skills
  • Ability to prepare complete, clean books ready for tax filing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • English required (Spanish an asset)
  • Reliability, confidentiality, and attention to detail are essential
