About the Role:

We're looking for a product designer with 3+ years of experience to research, define, design, develop, and iterate on the products we build and the process we use to do so. We are building products for software engineers thus experience with HTML, CSS and/or Javascript is a big plus. 

You will work closely with leadership, engineers, and customer success to lead in the following areas:

• Conceptualize, prototype, design, and pitch solutions and turn them into high-fidelity mockups

• Work closely with the product owner and engineers to build and ship product features 

• Pitch product feature designs clearly and concisely to stakeholders

• Conduct user interviews, usability testing, and analysis

• Participate in design critique and product feature feedback meetings

• Use and leverage metrics to drive product design and measure product success

• Contribute to and help maintain our design system

• Work closely with our sales and success team to uncover user needs and pain points

About you:

• You have direct experience in leading the charge of bringing digital products to life 

• You have significant startup experience, being part of taking a product through to Product Market Fit and through a series of funding

• Experience designing developer tools is a passion 

• You care about the business needs, implications, and practicality of your designs. You don't get stuck on pretty UI or deep abstractions and can balance between craft, speed, and the bottom line.

• You have strong beliefs, loosely held. You're a good listener who collaborates well with different stakeholders. You observe and internalize all inputs and feedback to help you reach an optimal decision.

• You like to tell stories using both words and visuals and strategize the best way to make your point.

• You enjoy shepherding design from concept through implementation

• You can work within a defined design system but can explain why you might need to break outside of it

• You are comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity.   is a Startup, and much remains up for debate; everything from cycle plans to top-line strategy can change —and will— so a certain degree of adventurousness is required.

• You bring creative problem solving, and iterate with low-fidelity sketches of workflows and transform them into beautiful high-fidelity designs using Figma

• You can use HTML and CSS as a design tool (to prototype and/or build your designs

Bonus Qualifications:

• Have an understanding of Slack's Block Kit

• Experience working with and/or designing CLI 

• You've used GitHub/Gitlab before or are familiar with modern developer workflows
