Job Purpose

As part of our dedicated team, you will play a crucial role in preparing vehicles for the painting process, ensuring the highest quality standards and customer satisfaction. Join us in creating exceptional automotive experiences. Your primary responsibility will be preparing vehicle surfaces for painting and working with the paint team. Typical duties include sanding vehicles, taping and edging vehicles and cleaning cars before the paint process begins.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicles for a paint by performing thorough sanding, masking, and priming procedures, ensuring smooth and flawless surfaces.
  • Inspect vehicles to identify imperfections, scratches, or dents that require repair or attention.
  • Using appropriate tools and paint spraying equipment to perform necessary repairs and adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the paint team to ensure proper color matching and automotive paint application techniques for car painting.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and company guidelines.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, techniques, and best practices related to auto body repair and painting.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure a seamless workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with other tasks in the auto body shop as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an auto body prepper, automobile paint prepper, or in a similar role within the automotive collision repair industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify imperfections or flaws in surfaces.
  • Proficient in using various tools and equipment required for refinish preparation.
  • Knowledge of different painting techniques, color matching, and surface preparation methods.
