Description
We are seeking a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Operator to join our machining quality team. Reporting to the Machining Quality Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the precision and quality of our machined parts through inspection processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CMM equipment to measure production parts using pre-existing CMM programs.
- Verify dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring equipment, adhering to GD&T standards.
- Work closely with the CMM Programmer and Machining Quality Lead to ensure accurate inspections.
- Ensure all seven machining cells follow inspection plans and inspection frequencies; proactively retrieve parts for measurement if not provided by the cells.
- Create and maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Interpret CMM reports and provide constructive feedback to the machining team.
- Troubleshoot and verify measurements using other gauges as necessary.
- Report quality issues to the Quality team.
- Assist with gauge calibration as needed.
- Complete additional tasks as required to support the metrology and quality teams.
- Strong knowledge of precision measuring equipment and GD&T.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience operating CMMs (Zeiss and Wenzel experience is an asset).
- Ability to interpret CMM reports.
- Machining experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical report writing.
