Opportunity: We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Product Designer to join our team and help develop our merchandise and product line. This role will be responsible for designing new products, creating thoughtful and sustainable packaging, and ensuring everything we offer aligns with our brand and mission. Whether it's apparel, accessories, pet products, or limited-edition items, your work will help spread awareness, generate support, and build a deeper connection between our community and the animals we serve.
About Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary: Dog Tales is a world-renowned dog rescue and horse sanctuary set on an incredible 50 acres of green fields, rolling hills, and wooded areas in King City, Ontario. Our picturesque location - complete with walking trails, therapy pools, and a grooming spa - is the perfect setting for abused and neglected animals to heal and be rehabilitated while they wait for forever homes. Along with medical care, our team provides all of the love, attention, and training that our rescue animals need to recover from their difficult pasts, so that they can move on to permanent, loving homes, which most do. The Role:
  • Design and develop new clothing, merchandise and product concepts for every season, from ideation to production
  • Create packaging for a variety of products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Graphic Designers
  • Design home goods, accessories, fashion items and packaging
  • Create dog accessories including beds and dishes
  • Assist with prototyping, sampling, and reviewing product quality prior to launch
  • Stay current on design trends, market research, and customer preferences

What You Bring:
  • 2+ years of experience in product design (with fashion, accessories and packaging)
  • Prior experience with designing streetwear is preferred
  • Experience with trade shows
  • Strong portfolio showcasing product development and packaging projects
  • Knowledge of materials, production processes, and sustainable design practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of visual aesthetics
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Salary: The salary for this position starts at $42,000 per year.
Schedule: This is a full-time position with a schedule of 8 AM – 5 PM, five days a week, with occasional weekend shifts as needed.
