The Opportunity

The Manager, Education Programs is responsible for overseeing the coordination, development, and execution of various educational projects. This role requires a strong understanding of educational methodologies, project management skills, and a passion for fostering innovative learning environments. This role manages the timely and accurate review and development of online course content, modules, the Financial Literacy Graduation Requirement, and a variety of elementary and secondary learning materials for students, educators, and families in both English and French.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and guidance to Equity Specialists, Indigenous Content Specialists, Teacher Reviewers, and Accessibility Specialists for the educational content design of TVO's Digital Learning portfolio for Ontario elementary and secondary students. They will collaborate cross-functionally within TVO divisions, the ILC, special learning projects, and with Ministry stakeholders to optimize content delivery and manage and maintain equity, diversity, accessibility, and pedagogical standards within budget and scope with cross-functional team.
How you will make an impact
- Recruit, develop, and manage a variety of contract-for-service educational experts
- Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of educational content
- Provide guidance for the educational content design of TVO's Digital Learning portfolio that is equitable and inclusive in supporting learners of diverse backgrounds, learning differences, and ages
- Work with a cross-functional team to inform the creation of engaging, accessible, equitable, and relevant content that is rooted in cutting edge pedagogy
- Manage the content development of English and French versions of the Financial Literacy Graduation Requirement and its supplementary resources
- Work with other managers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of online content, modules, and learning materials on existing, new, and emerging platforms
- Ensure content quality and that the final digital learning products exemplify the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion and best pedagogical practices on online platforms
- Inform and review the creation of online content and digital learning activities including but not limited to outlines, learning activity creation, and wireframes for digital components
- Collaborate with educational experts in assessment creation and all subject areas to develop engaging and effective educational content and materials
- Monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement solutions to ensure the timely and successful completion of learning programs
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness and impact of educational programs
- Stay updated on the latest educational trends, technologies, and best practices in online learning
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment to encourage creativity and innovation in educational project planning and execution
- Review and provide feedback on student experiences and support testing of educational content with learner groups
What you will bring to TVO
- Bilingual in French/English languages
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a school, online learning, and/or system leadership capacity
- Member of the Ontario College of Teachers in good standing
- 5+ years of classroom experience in K-12
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in, and understanding complex issues related to equity, diversity, and inclusion as they relate to the learner's experience
- A thorough understanding of diversity frameworks
- Professional experience in, and understanding of the inclusion of educational content relating to Indigenous perspectives and knowledge
- Experience in provincial level assessment development
- Experience leading educational seminars, workshops, presentations in the areas of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility
- Ability to work at times outside of business hours due to contract employee availability
