LEGAL ASSISTANT REQUIRED FOR BUSY LAW FIRM/SENIOR PARTNER

HOURS: 9:00am to 5:00pm

WAGE: Commensurate with experience

BENEFITS: Health care benefits (after probationary period)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Legal Assistant certificate/diploma or relatable experience
  • 5 + years experience in busy personal injury office
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Process paperwork in a timely manner
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be very organized and able to multitask
  • Excellent customer service skills to deal with clients, opposing counsel and court staff
  • Must be willing to receive guidance and ask for assistance when necessary
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Dependability/Reliability

DUTIES/EXPECTATIONS

  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Provide clients with information
  • Maintain filing system
  • Monitor Tickler system and ensure deadlines are met
  • Prepare court files and other documents
  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents
  • Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammar
  • Draft legal correspondence and perform general office and clerical duties

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Microsoft Windows
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Outlook (email, calendar and tasks)
  • PC Law
